The Construction and Development Coalition, led by Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, has nominated Bassem Mohammed Khudhair for the position of Oil Minister in the upcoming government formation. This came during the coalition leader's reception of a group of members of parliament from Basra Governorate in the presence of its governor, Asaad Al-Eidani, where the latest developments in the country and government formation trajectories were reviewed. Al-Sudani informed the MPs that the coalition leadership has chosen one of Basra Governorate's sons, Bassem Mohammed Khudhair, from among experienced and competent individuals to manage the Ministry of Oil in the new government. Al-Sudani called on Basra's MPs to support this nomination, affirming the importance of cooperation and coordination among all national political parties to proceed with forming the new government and work to enhance stability, and complete the journey of reform, reconstruction, and economic renaissance across the country's governorates.
