The leader of the National Shiite Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced on Wednesday the complete detachment of "Saraya al-Salam" from the movement and its full integration into state institutions under the command of the General Official for Military Formations. In an official statement, al-Sadr clarified that this step prioritizes the public interest and protects the country from impending risks, noting that the decision supports efforts to confine weapons to the state and strengthen its authority. He added that the civilian entities associated with the brigades will be integrated into what is known as the "Solid Structure" (Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous), operating in a purely civilian capacity free of armed appearances, uniforms, or organizational designations. He concluded his statement by thanking the brigades' members for their efforts.
