dijlahpoint - The Babylon Antiquities and Heritage Inspectorate denied on Thursday (September 10, 2026) circulating reports about the discovery of bronze statues and skeletons in Al-Shumali district, confirming that legal measures will be taken and those responsible for misleading public opinion will be prosecuted.

Inspector Adel Kazem said the site in question is a flat piece of land listed on the cadastral map, and what occurred was the appearance of a small section of a wall during river dredging works, after which the Al-Shumali monitoring unit immediately halted the works.

He added that the inspectorate formed technical joint committees with security agencies and conducted field inspections that fully disproved claims of bronze statues or archaeological finds, confirming that the inspectorate's legal representative has been directed to file an official judicial complaint against everyone who published false information that has no relation to reality.
