Editorial policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These are the principles the Dijlah Point News editorial team follows when gathering, writing, publishing and correcting news.
Accuracy and verification
We publish information only after checking it with at least one reliable source, and we seek two independent sources for sensitive stories. Anything not yet confirmed is labelled as unconfirmed.
Sources and attribution
- Every piece of information is attributed to its source: an official body, a news agency, a reporter or a document.
- When we rely on another outlet or agency, we name it.
- We use anonymous sources only when necessary and explain why the source is not named.
News and opinion
News is written neutrally. Opinion and analysis pieces are clearly labelled and carry their author's name.
Sponsored content
Paid or promotional content is clearly labelled as “Sponsored” or “Advertisement”. Advertisers have no say in editorial decisions.
Corrections
We correct errors as soon as they are confirmed and add a note at the end of the story saying what changed and when.
English edition
English stories are translations of the Arabic text. Where the two differ, the Arabic text prevails.
