dijlahpoint - The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati, confirmed on Thursday the complete halt of Iranian oil exports, resulting in zero oil revenues at present. He explained that Tehran is moving towards collecting its financial dues from trading partners to overcome the economic crisis. He pointed out the existence of Iranian funds in the Central Bank of Iraq resulting from previous exports valued at $12 billion annually. He noted that the Iraqi government has shown commitment to repaying the debts but faces economic challenges due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the disruption of its oil exports. He also noted that US sanctions and asset freezes prevent Iran from utilizing its foreign financial reserves to cover the deficit.
