dijlahpoint - The General Authority of Syrian Ports and Customs announced the closure of the Nassib border crossing with Jordan and the complete suspension of passenger traffic and trade exchange in both directions, against the backdrop of security developments witnessed in the southern Daraa governorate.
The authority clarified that the closure decision came in view of current conditions and field developments, confirming that the suspension of crossing includes travelers and commercial trucks to preserve the safety of workers and travelers without setting a date to resume movement.
This decision comes at a time when the concerned parties are exchanging contacts and investigations regarding the circumstances of field tension, amid diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis and reopen the vital crossing which is a main artery for regional trade.
