Member of the Coordination Framework Abdul Samad Al-Zarkoushi confirmed today, Monday (May 4, 2026), that the file of sovereign ministries has been resolved within consultations to form the new government, indicating that the presentation of Ali Al-Zaidi's ministerial cabinet may not take more than two weeks in preparation for a vote in the House of Representatives.

Al-Zarkoushi stated that Al-Zaidi's nomination came after a prior political consensus between the Framework's forces and other political forces of various spectra regarding the form of the upcoming government and the entitlements of forces according to election results.

He added that the past days witnessed the resolution of sovereign ministries, placing us at an advanced stage that may not exceed two weeks to present the ministerial cabinet to parliament for a vote, noting the absence of notable objections from political forces.

He pointed out that recent visits and meetings in Baghdad, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah contributed to accelerating the pace of political understandings and gave clear momentum to the government formation process.
