Economic experts have emphasized that Iraq possesses promising investment potential that extends beyond the energy sector to include housing, industry, and agriculture, in addition to its strategic geographical location. However, experts pointed out that several challenges hinder the influx of foreign investments, primarily bureaucratic complexities, administrative corruption, and political fluctuations, along with an underdeveloped banking infrastructure. They stressed the necessity of creating a safe and stable environment for capital and establishing transparent mechanisms for granting approvals. Furthermore, they highlighted that with over 90% of current investments concentrated in the energy sector, urgent plans are required to diversify the economy and attract investors to other vital sectors.
