Economic specialist Rasheed Al-Khafaji explained that Iraq relies on imports for over 90% of its food needs, noting that any tension in maritime corridors increases transport and insurance costs. Al-Khafaji warned against the exploitation of crises by some merchants through monopolies and price hikes, urging government authorities to tighten market control and activate strategic reserves to maintain local market stability.
