Electoral Commission Considers Adopting the Unified National Card in Voting Processes

The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) held an extensive meeting chaired by the Deputy Head of the Board of Commissioners, alongside several members and specialized technical staff, to discuss mechanisms for utilizing the Unified National Card in voting processes, working alongside the biometric electronic voter card. During the meeting, technical committees presented a detailed report on the technical requirements for merging the data of both cards. They recommended officially contacting the Ministry of Interior to provide the necessary infrastructure to prepare a simulation environment for the project. A series of joint coordination meetings between the Commission and the Ministry of Interior are scheduled to overcome technical obstacles and ensure the success of this strategic step in developing the electoral process.
