Dozens of farmers from several governorates organized a protest in central Baghdad, demanding the cancellation of the 2026 wheat pricing policy, the disbursement of their overdue dues for 2025, and securing marketing funds for the current season. Their demands also included compensation for damages caused by natural disasters, the cancellation of arbitrary procedures in the marketing file, the inclusion of actually cultivated lands in fair marketing plans, as well as the postponement of loans and the dismissal of lawsuits filed against them. The participants warned of continued escalation in the absence of serious engagement with their demands.
