Municipal authorities in Baghdad are moving toward privatizing the waste management sector, transforming it into a promising investment opportunity to process approximately 10,000 tons of daily waste. Current initiatives include granting investment licenses to treat and incinerate 3,000 tons daily at landfill sites to generate 100 megawatts of electricity. Additional studies are underway to expand these strategic projects to other regions, ensuring environmentally safe and modern waste disposal.
