The Governorate of Baghdad has launched a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at "rectifying the municipal trajectory" and maximizing local revenues, placing service departments under a strict monthly evaluation system to measure performance and hold underperformers accountable. The plan seeks to resolve ongoing service crises and provide radical solutions to obstacles facing municipal work in the capital. New measures include subjecting municipal institutions to periodic evaluations, prohibiting extortion, implementing precise legal frameworks to increase financial resources, and mandating municipalities to submit monthly reports on equipment readiness. The Governor pledged full legal protection and unwavering support for municipal directors against external pressures, ensuring a secure and independent working environment. The initiative also focuses on addressing sanitation and environmental issues, removing illegal encroachments, expediting urban development transactions, and distributing residential plots to eligible citizens to achieve a qualitative leap in public services.
