A security source reported that security forces began implementing a special security plan to secure the perimeter and entrances of the Green Zone, imposing rigorous inspection procedures and preventing vehicle movement on several access roads. The source added that army units, federal police, and other security agencies were on maximum alert in anticipation of any breaches. The Council of Representatives had announced the session to vote on the ministerial curriculum and the new cabinet line-up.
