A security source reported that the commander of the Green Zone traffic sector directed the implementation of new organizational measures near the entrance to the Green Zone in the capital Baghdad, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic flow. The measures included setting up barriers and traffic guidance to direct citizens to alternative routes, as well as raising awareness not to head directly to the area unless necessary. The source indicated that this step contributes to reducing traffic jams and improving entry and exit management of the area, especially during peak hours, affirming that work continues to update field procedures to serve traffic flow in the capital. The Green Zone had witnessed a closure coinciding with the parliament session dedicated to voting on the new prime minister's government.
