The spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank commenced in Washington with the participation of a high-level Iraqi delegation. Discussions focused on the repercussions of the regional war on Iraqi oil exports and ways to support the Iraqi economy in facing the projected budget deficit, especially with the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on crude flows.
