Dijlah Point - The Iranian Shura Council has approved a new legislative article within the strategic measure bill to secure the Strait of Hormuz, stipulating the imposition of financial fees on ships permitted to transit the strait. The National Security Committee in the Council explained that these fees are in exchange for the services provided by Iranian authorities to secure navigation in this vital area. Through this measure, Tehran seeks to assert a broader supervisory and financial role over maritime traffic in one of the world's most important and strategic energy corridors.
