dijlahpoint - The Ministry of Transport announced on Friday (September 11, 2026) that it has completed with the Turkish side the final draft for implementing the Development Road project between the two countries.

The ministry said in a statement that representatives of the Ministries of Transport, Oil, Finance and Foreign Affairs, in addition to SOMO and executive bodies, concluded four days of negotiations with the Turkish delegation over the final draft for implementing the project.

It added that the talks focused on completing the legal, technical and financial aspects and defining implementation mechanisms, ensuring clarity of mutual obligations and rights and the requirements of targeted projects between the two countries.

It is worth noting that Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding with the Turkish side at the end of last July to implement the project between the two countries and enhance cooperation in its management.
