The Iraqi Ministerial Council for National Security has issued direct orders to defend and confront airstrikes targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) headquarters and national armed forces formations.

The Iraqi military spokesperson announced in an official statement that Iraq will exercise its right to self-defense by all means, deciding to prosecute entities attacking security institutions.

Diplomatically, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry summoned the US Chargé d'Affaires and the Iranian Ambassador to deliver official protest notes. These moves followed airstrikes targeting security sites in Anbar, Nineveh, Babylon, and Erbil, which resulted in casualties.
