The Executive Director of the Iraqi Media and Communications Commission affirmed Iraq's commitment to building a modern digital system that keeps pace with global transformations, enhances innovation, protects users, and attracts investment. This came during his participation in the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR26) held in Ankara, where he explained that Iraq is undergoing a pivotal phase in digital transformation with increasing demand for digital services. He noted that the Commission issued the regulatory framework for digital platforms and services as a fundamental step towards modern regulation that balances user protection and encouragement of the digital economy. He stressed Iraq's commitment to activating 5G networks with the utmost effort and speed, as a cornerstone for developing digital infrastructure and improving communication quality, while preparing the necessary regulatory, technical, and investment requirements for their efficient launch.
