The President of the Kurdistan Region congratulated the Prime Minister-designate on his appointment, wishing him success in his duties.

The Region's President stated in a congratulatory message: "We congratulate brother Ali Al-Zaidi on his nomination and appointment as Prime Minister, wishing him success in forming a comprehensive national government that meets the aspirations of our people throughout Iraq and works to enhance stability and reconstruction."

He added: "We affirm our support for him and our cooperation with him for a better future for all Iraqis."

This comes after the Coordination Framework officially nominated Ali Al-Zaidi for the premiership, and the President of the Republic tasked him with forming the government.

Al-Zaidi pledged in his first speech following his appointment that addressing internal and external challenges would be among his top priorities, noting that his program aims to make Iraq a balanced country regionally and internationally.
