Technical staff at the Ministry of Oil, in cooperation with the French company TotalEnergies, have begun implementing four major projects within the Integrated Energy Agreement, valued at approximately $27 billion. These projects include developing oil fields in Basra, utilizing associated gas to reduce carbon emissions, and constructing a major solar power plant with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts. An official statement confirmed that this project will lead to a revolution in the Iraqi energy sector by providing stable gas supplies to operate power plants and reducing dependence on imported gas. This will save significant amounts for the public treasury and support the stability of the national electricity grid across all the country's provinces.
