Ministry of Finance Announces Launch of Third Phase of Customs Automation Project Next Month

Minister of Finance, Faleh Sari, directed the launch of the third phase of the advanced electronic customs system project, "ASYCUDA," early next month, aiming to enhance the digital transformation process and develop operations at border crossings. This came during an extensive meeting that included the Director General of the General Commission of Customs and representatives of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), to discuss completion rates and technical requirements for the upcoming phase. The Minister emphasized that this project is a fundamental pillar for modernizing customs administration, simplifying procedures, and enforcing effective oversight, which directly contributes to maximizing non-oil revenues and improving the investment environment, praising the continuous technical cooperation with international partners to ensure the success of this qualitative leap.
