The Ministry of Trade has announced the commencement of processing and distributing a new batch of items for both the standard food basket and the social welfare basket. The ministry called upon food supply agents in Baghdad and all other governorates to visit designated sales centers to finalize administrative procedures for immediate distribution. The Director General of the General Company for Foodstuff Trading stated that these operations are being executed according to approved schedules, emphasizing the necessity for agents to adhere to electronic payment systems (POS) to ensure an efficient and organized workflow. Furthermore, the ministry confirmed that all food components undergo rigorous laboratory and physical inspections to verify compliance with standard quality specifications prior to public distribution.
