The Iraqi Ministry of Trade, represented by the Department of Foreign Economic Relations, has initiated the updating of the initial services offer file as a fundamental step to complete the technical requirements for Iraq's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Technical committees held a series of coordination meetings in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and relevant ministries to discuss updating the cultural, sports, health, and commercial business services sectors. This step aims to meet the requirements of the organization's member states, liberalize service sectors, expand opportunities for foreign direct investment, and promote transparency principles in the Iraqi market.
