The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed on Thursday (May 7, 2026) reports regarding the possibility of reaching an agreement between the United States and Iran, confirming the continuation of its diplomatic efforts to bring the two parties' viewpoints closer.

A spokesperson for the Pakistani Foreign Affairs stated that Islamabad welcomes news of the potential signing of an agreement, noting that his country will not lose the trust of both parties by revealing mediation details or the course of negotiations.

He added that Pakistani authorities do not yet know the location of the potential agreement signing between Washington and Tehran, but affirmed that hosting such an event in Islamabad would be a source of pride for Pakistan.

The Pakistani Foreign Affairs had earlier confirmed the continuation of its role as a mediator between the two parties, without specifying a date or official venue for the next round of talks.

Islamabad also emphasized its commitment to continuing de-escalation efforts and supporting political solutions, confirming that the success of any agreement would contribute to enhancing regional stability and opening the door to broader understandings in the region.
