The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed that employees' salaries are secured and the budget is pending the formation of the government, while indicating that Iraq needs more than seven trillion dinars to secure salaries.
Committee member, MP Adi Awad, stated that the Central Bank pledged to finance and secure employees' salaries according to the provisional appropriations law.
He added that upon the formation of the government, the current year's budget will be sent, noting that there is borrowing authority to reduce the size of the crisis, especially since it is not known whether the Strait of Hormuz will be opened or not.
Awad explained that Iraq needs more than seven trillion dinars to secure employees' salaries, which are secured according to the provisional appropriations law from the Central Bank for six months.
