The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee revealed that approximately 40% of the draft amendments to the Traffic Law have been completed, confirming ongoing consultations to finalize the legislative procedures. The committee explained that the current amendments will focus on reviewing vital issues including traffic fines, mechanisms for issuing and renewing driver's licenses and annual vehicle registrations, in addition to establishing new regulations for vehicle window tinting. These regulations include allowing a specific percentage of tinting for free, while subjecting higher percentages to financial fees. These steps are part of parliamentary and governmental efforts to alleviate the burden on citizens and update legislation in line with traffic safety standards, ahead of presenting the final amendments for a vote.
