The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced significant progress in the electricity interconnection project with the Gulf countries and Jordan, confirming that the first phase of the connection with Jordan will soon begin supplying the national grid with specific amounts of energy. This strategic direction aims to diversify energy sources and ensure the stability of the electric current during peak summer periods. The technical report explained that work is ongoing to establish transformation stations and shared transmission lines according to the highest international technical standards. This interconnection will help reduce pressure on local stations and provide flexible energy alternatives in emergencies, supporting industrial and commercial activity in the country and improving services provided to citizens in all provinces.
