President of the Republic Nizar Amedi affirmed today, Wednesday (May 6, 2026), his support for the Prime Minister-designate in selecting a competent ministerial cabinet.

This came during his reception at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad of a delegation from the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee, which presented congratulations on the occasion of his assumption of the presidency.

The meeting addressed ways to develop the investment reality in the country, with the President emphasizing the importance of supporting economic development plans and creating an attractive investment environment, as well as removing obstacles facing investors and enhancing partnership between the public and private sectors.

Regarding the formation of the new government, the President affirmed the importance of supporting the Prime Minister-designate in selecting a competent ministerial cabinet based on criteria of integrity, experience, and independence, in line with citizens' aspirations for progress and prosperity.
