The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture announced the success of the wheat marketing season, as the quantities delivered to government warehouses reached record levels, enabling Iraq to achieve full self-sufficiency for this year. The ministry attributed this success to the use of modern irrigation techniques and continuous government support for farmers by providing seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides at subsidized prices. The ministry spokesperson explained that this achievement strengthens national food security and reduces the external import bill. It was noted that there are ambitious plans to export the surplus in future seasons after securing the state's strategic reserve, opening new horizons for the Iraqi agricultural economy and increasing its contribution to the GDP.
