The Dutch government announced on Friday a comprehensive ban on the import and sale of goods produced in Israeli settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Syrian Golan Heights. The Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade stated that this decision, approved by the cabinet, aims to send a firm message to Israel regarding the Netherlands' commitment to international law, noting that settlement expansion undermines the prospects of a two-state solution. Amsterdam also urged European Union member states to take similar steps to halt indirect support for economic activities in the occupied territories.
