To Dry Up Terrorism Sources: High-Level Security Meeting Between Baghdad and Erbil to Develop Intelligence Exchange

dijlahpoint - Head of the Counter-Terrorism Service, Staff Lieutenant General Zaid Houshi Al-Mousawi, met on Thursday (September 10, 2026) with Kurdistan Region Interior Minister Rebar Ahmed.

The service stated in a release that the meeting addressed a number of priority security files between the center and the region, foremost among them developing coordination mechanisms and the exchange of information and expertise, enhancing the level of integration between security institutions to confront terrorist challenges and threats, and pursuing the remnants of terrorist gangs and drying up their sources of support.

The statement added that both sides stressed the need to continue cooperation and unify joint efforts, enhancing the security agencies' ability to respond to challenges and consolidate security and stability throughout the country.
