Urgent Ministerial Directives to Address Bottlenecks and Reduce Power Losses in Preparation for Summer

The Minister of Electricity, Ali Saadi Wahib, issued a package of urgent directives today to technical and field cadres across all sectors, aimed at controlling electrical power losses and addressing bottlenecks in the national grid. These proactive moves coincide with the expected increase in loads during the summer season, amidst challenges associated with limited fuel supplies. The directed measures included intensifying emergency maintenance campaigns, removing illegal grid violations, as well as providing immediate responses to citizen complaints and restarting a number of generation units and transmission lines. The ministry emphasized the importance of full mobilization of engineering efforts to ensure the stability of the system and improve the level of supply to consumers.
