The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the initiation of a new wave of military strikes targeting assets inside Iran. According to an official CENTCOM statement, the strikes aim to further degrade military capabilities utilized to target commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
This follows a previous round of intensive precision strikes that targeted dozens of military sites, coastal installations, missile storage, and drone facilities, coinciding with the reinstatement of naval enforcement measures. CENTCOM emphasized that the operations, which spanned several hours, were designed to mitigate threats against commercial navigation and civilian vessel crews in key international waterways.
