The Border Ports Authority announced the thwarting of an attempt that caused a waste of public funds exceeding 40 million Iraqi dinars at the Al-Munthiriya border crossing. Investigation and search detachments successfully seized two trucks loaded with electrical cables after the customs description was altered, falsely declaring them as copper cables to evade proper fees. The Authority confirmed that a formal seizure report was prepared, and the suspects were referred to the relevant judicial authorities for legal action. The Authority reiterated its commitment to tightening oversight and combating any manipulation of customs data to protect public funds.
