dijlahpoint - On the occasion of World Rivers Day, Minister of Environment Sarwah Abdul Wahid emphasized that protecting the Tigris and Euphrates rivers from pollution and depletion requires decisive, enforceable actions rather than temporary recommendations. The Minister noted that dumping contaminated water and industrial waste into river systems poses a direct hazard to public health and water security. She affirmed that the Ministry of Environment will strictly monitor pollution sources and implement full legal measures against violating entities without exception, stressing that preserving Iraq's waterways is a national duty for future generations.
