dijlahpoint - Finance Minister Ali Abdul Amir Allawi discussed the overall economic situation and the government's vision for financial reform with a number of officials and international parties, including the US Chargé d'Affaires.

The ministry stated in a statement that "the meeting witnessed discussions on mechanisms to support the Iraqi economy and implement the White Paper for financial and economic reform, as well as enhancing cooperation with international financial institutions to overcome the financial crisis and provide economic stability for the country."

The statement added that "the ministry is proceeding with implementing reform steps capable of addressing the financial deficit and rationalizing spending, in a manner that contributes to protecting vulnerable groups and revitalizing productive sectors."
