The General Traffic Directorate announced the success of its traffic plan for the Ashura pilgrimage, confirming highly smooth movement of pilgrims and vehicles heading to the holy province of Karbala. Official statistics showed that over 198,000 vehicles of various types entered the city to secure the transportation of pilgrims. The Directorate stated that the traffic deployment rate reached 99%, with a 100% success rate in the reverse dispatch plan. Furthermore, a significant decrease in traffic violations and accidents was recorded nationwide, with an emphasis on zero accidents or fatalities occurring inside Karbala during the pilgrimage, thanks to intensive efforts and the deployment of patrols and radars on major roads.
