dijlahpoint - The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Sunday, September 13, 2026, that it had succeeded in halting the sale procedures of two properties in Anbar Governorate at below-market prices, noting that its measures helped prevent the waste of more than four and a half billion dinars of public funds.

In a statement, the commission said that a field team formed at the Anbar Investigation Office, during its visit to the State Real Estate Department in the governorate, uncovered violations in the valuation of two properties totaling (186) dunams, which were set to be sold through public auction. The commission pointed out the failure to determine the true value of the properties and the prevailing average prices, which would have led to the waste of an amount of (4,650,000,000) four billion six hundred fifty million dinars of public money, before the commission's procedures resulted in stopping the auction.

The commission added that the team, which also visited the Real Estate Registration and Urban Planning Directorates and the General Authority for Taxes in the governorate, recorded violations in the valuation of the two properties and in real estate registration and tax controls, as well as the failure to accurately determine their locations, which led to undervaluing them. The commission noted that the investigating judge specialized in integrity cases in Ramadi decided to halt the auction procedures and refrain from proceeding with them, and to notify the State Real Estate Department in Anbar of the decision.

The commission indicated that a report by the External Audit Division showed that the valuation of the two properties was conducted in violation of the provisions of Law No. (21 of 2013) on the Sale and Lease of State Property, noting that the property valuation committee that signed the valuation record includes representatives of the State Real Estate Department and the Real Estate Registration and Treasury Directorates. The investigating judge also decided to record the statements of the legal representatives of the State Real Estate Department, the Real Estate Registration Directorate, Ramadi Municipality, and the General Authority for Taxes in Anbar.
