Integrity Commission Initiates Practical Steps to Address Stalled Hospital Projects in Baghdad

dijlahpoint - The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Sunday (August 23, 2026) the launch of a series of procedures to resolve the files of the Al-Shu'ala and Al-Hurriya hospital projects in Baghdad, after identifying the reasons behind their suspension for several years. The commission stated that completion rates have reached 92.7% at Al-Shu'ala Hospital and 73% at Al-Hurriya Hospital. It attributed the delays to a lack of funding, delayed payments to the executing companies, and other challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The Integrity Commission confirmed that joint coordination with relevant government entities has begun to secure the necessary allocations, procure medical equipment and furniture, and complete the infrastructure connections, paving the way for their inauguration to serve citizens.
