Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari directed the head of the Ministry's Legal Department on Monday to urgently travel to Najaf Governorate to investigate the circumstances surrounding the recent incident at the "Al-Amirat" police station.

According to an official statement from the Ministry, Al-Shammari instructed the legal director to meet with several lawyers and conduct an on-site review to determine the details of the altercation that occurred between a police officer and a lawyer inside the station.

The statement noted that this step is part of an ongoing effort to monitor the investigation's progress and listen to all involved parties. The objective is to uncover the full truth and take appropriate legal actions in accordance with established official procedures.

Furthermore, the Interior Minister reaffirmed the Ministry's firm commitment to protecting the dignity of citizens and legal professionals. He emphasized that the law is above everyone and that no transgressions undermining the prestige of state institutions or individual rights will be tolerated.
