The competent Criminal Court has issued a death sentence for a convict belonging to terrorist groups, following proven involvement in a series of severe crimes in the city of Mosul. Investigations revealed that the convict transformed a blacksmithing workshop under his management into a depot for weapons, improvised explosive devices, and explosive materials to support terrorist operations. Evidence confirmed his participation in targeting security forces and military convoys, carrying out assassinations against officers and personnel, and executing a car bomb attack in a residential neighborhood in 2021, which resulted in civilian casualties. The convict also participated in attacks targeting provincial prisons, breaching them to facilitate the escape of inmates and murdering other prisoners. The court's decision was issued in accordance with the provisions of the applicable Anti-Terrorism Law.
