The Environmental Police Directorate of the Ministry of Interior categorically denied circulated reports regarding the escape of lions in the Taji Beach area, north of the capital, Baghdad. Following comprehensive field sweeps conducted in cooperation with relevant security agencies across local farms and reserves, the Directorate confirmed that no loose lions were detected, emphasizing that the security and environmental conditions are completely stable. It clarified that isolated animal tracks found in the area do not constitute evidence of escaped predators. The Directorate urged citizens to rely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading rumors that incite public panic, while praising the continuous cooperation of the residents with security forces.
