The Senior Deputy Minister of Interior, Hussein Al-Awadi, directed on Wednesday that necessary legal measures be taken against an officer following his assault on a citizen in Salah al-Din Governorate. The Ministry confirmed in an official statement that the officer, who belongs to the governorate's police command in Tuz Khurmatu district, has been detained, and an investigative board has been formed. The Senior Deputy emphasized the categorical rejection of any abusive violations against citizens, affirming that the security institution was established to protect individuals, preserve their dignity, and enforce the rule of law fairly, and that such individual actions do not represent the Ministry's principles and values.
