The Ali Salih area in the capital, Baghdad, witnessed an unfortunate hit-and-run traffic incident today involving an elderly man while he was attempting to cross the road. The incident resulted in severe injuries to the victim, while the driver of the vehicle fled to an unknown destination immediately after the accident. Field sources reported that the victim was left at the scene, and his identity remains unknown as he was not carrying any official identification documents. It was noted that he was wearing a traditional gray garment (dishdasha). Competent authorities renew their calls for drivers to strictly adhere to designated speed limits, especially in residential areas, to ensure pedestrian safety and prevent the recurrence of such tragic incidents.
