On Friday evening, the residence of the President of Al-Israa University, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Majidi, was targeted with a sound bomb in the Palestine Street area, east of the capital, Baghdad. An informed security source stated that unknown assailants threw the sound bomb at the house, noting that the attack did not result in any human casualties and damage was limited to material aspects. This is the second attack of its kind targeting Al-Majidi's residence. It is worth noting that the presidency of Al-Israa University had previously revealed last week that Dr. Al-Majidi received threats from an armed group. This was allegedly in response to the university administration's refusal to pass an engineering student contrary to established ministerial regulations and guidelines.
