The Wasit Provincial Police Command announced the success of its patrols in rescuing two young men who attempted to end their lives by jumping from the top of the Kut Barrage. The command detailed that police detachments intervened immediately and decisively upon spotting the situations, preventing a tragedy at the last moment. Security authorities noted that the young men were referred to the Community Police to investigate the motives and underlying causes of these attempts, and to take the necessary rehabilitative and legal measures to ensure their safety.
