Informed sources reported that competent authorities have taken an urgent decision to suspend traffic on the Hamrin Bridge, one of the country's major bridges located in Diyala province, indefinitely. This measure was prompted by a technical report warning of serious risks to commuters due to the erosion of parts of the bridge's structural foundation. Sources indicated that vehicle and truck traffic will be diverted to alternative routes to alleviate congestion, emphasizing the critical need for comprehensive technical maintenance to avert potential disasters before reopening the vital bridge, which connects the province's cities to its center.
