dijlahpoint - The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Tuesday (September 15, 2026) the launch of the electronic application process for the Excellence and Artificial Intelligence colleges at the University of Baghdad for the academic year 2026–2027. In an official statement, the ministry said that application conditions require candidates to be graduates of the preparatory school for the academic year 2025–2026 with an average of no less than 85%, in addition to passing an English language test and a personal interview. The applications are distributed according to academic branches: graduates of the scientific branch may apply to all departments of the Excellence College, while literary branch applicants are limited to the departments of Business Administration and E-Commerce, Accounting and Banking, and Philosophy and Sociology. As for the Artificial Intelligence College, scientific branch graduates may apply to the departments of Engineering Applications, Biomedical Applications, and Big Data. The ministry noted that first-round students are eligible to apply to both colleges, and in case the admission plan is not completed, vacant seats will be filled with graduates of the first and second rounds according to the minimum thresholds for each department. It added that the application form allows scientific branch students to choose at least two departments in the AI College and three in the Excellence College, or rank their options across both colleges together, while literary graduates must choose at least two departments in the Excellence College, noting that applications are submitted through the (Qaddam platform) and continue until Sunday, September 27.
